Monday Money Saving Message - June 14

For today's money saving message, I'm going to tell you something I do to get good deals that I fought hard against....opening a "deals e-mail" account. Use yahoo, gmail, hotmail, or any e-mail that is free. Why does this help? Now you are able to sign up for all the newsletters, freebies, deals, and more that you want and not have to worry about extra spam in your person e-mail or a large amount of e-mails to sift through daily.

I didn't want to do this for a long time because of having to go through another set of e-mails (I'm already on the computer enough)! I finally broke down and opened a new e-mail account just for these newsletters and deals that require an e-mail address, like freebie sign ups or coupons.

For example, I am now signed up to receive e-mails from:
-Ruby Tuesdays - I got a B1G1 free entree coupon
-New York & Co. - I got a 40% off coupon
-Target - I get a new daily deal each day
-Bloom (grocery store) - I get a heads up on their new programs, deals, contests, etc.
-IHOP - I get a Free meal on my birthday and one on the anniversary of me joining
-I have signed up for all my freebies using this e-mail
And many more!

Most have sent me an e-mail maybe once in the past month to send an update on a new product or a new coupon. The grocery stores and drug stores usually send me an e-mail once a week on Sunday to show me what new sales are going on for the week, new text coupons, or new events going on in their stores. The retail sites are all different, some e-mail me almost every day and others send me an e-mail once a week. This is what I have experienced, the stores you sign up for may be different.

The thing I like about having a separate account is that I can use it when I want to like my other coupons. If I know I'm going to the mall to clothes shop this weekend, I will check on that e-mail account more often looking for new coupons or go out on the internet and make sure I'm signed up for the store newsletters so I am getting their coupons (or get a coupon when I sign up). I like to check on the e-mail account on Sundays to see what's new at my grocery stores and drug stores (my most shopped at stores). Otherwise, I will get on randomly and immediately delete all e-mails more than a couple days old so I'm not overwhelmed, then enjoy the current coupons and discounts.

Hope this helps you get some great coupons, free shipping codes, internet shopping codes, retail coupons, freebies, and sales information!

Do you have a separate "deals e-mail" account? What great deals have you found by signing up with a company?
